Our global client is currently looking for a Senior Business Relationship Manager-Migrations.
The role works directly with Application Owners, Platform Teams, Business Service Owners, the Planning Lead and the Technical Design Authority (TDA) to ensure migration activity is fully understood, formally approved, and operationally ready prior to execution. The BRM validates that operational procedures, technical dependencies, governance approvals and service restoration activities are fully aligned to the agreed Migration Sequence of Events (SoE) and T-minus readiness gates, ensuring controlled cutover and minimal service disruption.

The role is fully onsite in London.
Please note that the role is inside IR35.

Responsibilities

Extract server and application scope from Device42 or equivalent migration discovery data and create a structured Application Migration Engagement Tracker to manage all business-facing activity.
Cross-reference ServiceNow / CMDB records to validate application ownership, technical contacts and service classification.
Issue structured migration communications to Application Owners, Platform Teams and Business Service Owners in line with the approved migration schedule, clearly articulating:
Scope and migration approach
Outage requirements
Risk mitigation controls
Rollback strategy
Business benefit and transformation context
Engage directly with Application Owners to capture and validate:
Controlled stop/start procedures (applications, middleware, databases, batch processes)
Integration and upstream/downstream dependencies
Governance approvals and CAB requirements
Business impact and worst-case scenario assessments
Named resources for event weekend support
Ensure all operational procedures are aligned to the agreed Migration Sequence of Events (SoE) and T-minus readiness checkpoints prior to event lock-in.
Work collaboratively with the Planning Lead and Technical Design Authority (TDA) to ensure application-level inputs are fully reflected in sequencing, bundling and execution planning.
Manage objections or concerns relating to outage windows or risk exposure and escalate unresolved blockers through appropriate governance forums.
Maintain structured communication cadence between approval and event execution, ensuring stakeholders remain informed and prepared.
Update the Master Migration Planning tool to reflect application approval status and readiness classification ("Approved", "Conditionally Approved", "Blocked", "Locked In").
Provide regular reporting to Migration and Application Services leadership including:
Applications engaged per migration wave
Approvals secured and locked-in scope
Outstanding approvals and associated risks
Escalations and mitigation actions
Governance gaps or dependency concerns
Track and report risks where outage agreement or operational readiness confirmation is delayed, ensuring early escalation to protect schedule integrity.
Issue and manage Net Promoter Score (NPS) surveys post-migration events, track response rates and maintain programme KPI targets.
Adhere to the programme T-minus migration checklist, ensuring all readiness gates are completed prior to migration execution.
Capture and document lessons learned following migration events, contributing to continuous improvement of engagement and readiness processes.
Contribute to process standardisation and best practice development across the migration function.
Provide peer support and event coverage during peak migration windows or planned leave to ensure continuity of stakeholder engagement.
Support weekend migration events where required to ensure clear business liaison and controlled service restoration.

Essential Skills

Experience supporting large-scale data centre migrations (Lift & Shift and Phased Production) within complex enterprise environments.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, working directly with Application Owners, Platform Teams and Business Service Owners to secure approvals and operational readiness.
Ability to validate operational procedures, dependency sequencing and rollback plans aligned to a defined Migration Sequence of Events (SoE).
Experience operating within structured change governance frameworks (e.g. CAB, formal approval controls) in regulated environments.
Strong risk awareness and ability to escalate blockers impacting migration schedule or service stability.
Proficient in migration planning and Microsoft Excel, ServiceNow/CMDB and collaboration platforms (MS Teams).
Clear, confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders and manage outage sensitivity.
Detail-oriented, organised and comfortable working to fixed migration windows and T-minus readiness gates.
