We have a current opportunity for an experienced Planner on a contract basis. The position will be based in Manchester For further information about this position please apply.
One of our clients are looking for an experienced Planner to assist them working on a nuclear decommissioning project.
- 6-month contract
- Outside IR35
- Hybrid - 3 days in Manchester office
As a Planning Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and managing project programmes, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring accurate updates and reporting. Initially, you will work with the QS team to cost-load the existing programme of works. Once accepted, you will manage subcontractor plans and integrate updates into the overall programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop breakdown structures, quality criteria, and monitoring strategies.
- Validate project assumptions to ensure realistic and achievable plans.
- Interface with project controls to align financials with the project plan.
- Support optimisation of delivery through resource smoothing and rescheduling.
- Identify resource requirements for project delivery.
- Ensure stakeholder requirements are reflected in reporting.
- Provide planning advice and promote best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proficient in Primavera P6.
- Experience in cost and resource-loaded plans.
- Understanding of Earned Value Analysis.
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills.
- Excellent MS Office proficiency.
- Proactive approach to identifying savings and mitigations.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with estimating, scheduling, and risk tools.
- Experience in project controls within regulated environments.
Qualifications
- Essential: GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths.
- Desirable: HNC/HND or degree in a planning-related discipline; APMG Project Planning and Control Practitioner; PMI-SP certification.
