Are you a communications leader who can turn complex ideas into engaging, high-impact campaigns?

At the Government Digital Service (GDS), you’ll lead how we communicate and promote digital and cyber capability across government, helping to attract, engage and grow the talent needed to deliver modern public services.

This is a high-impact role working at the centre of government, influencing senior leaders and shaping how thousands of roles are positioned across the UK.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead the Communications and Engagement function within the Digital and Cyber Capability team, driving how we connect with talent, stakeholders, and the wider digital community.

You will:

Lead high-impact campaigns that bring workforce and capability strategies to life
Turn complex ideas into clear, engaging content and “capability products”
Design and deliver a multi-channel engagement strategy (events, digital, content)
Build strong relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders across government
Oversee brand and communications to ensure consistent, high-quality output
Lead and develop a high-performing communications and engagement team

Candidate profile

You’ll bring:

Experience delivering engaging digital-first campaigns and content
Strong stakeholder management skills, including influencing senior leaders
The ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively
Experience working in high-profile or fast-moving environments
A collaborative leadership style with experience managing teams
