At CGI, we help deliver critical digital services that support millions of citizens across the UK. As a Delivery Manager, you’ll play a central role in shaping and leading a newly established Continual Improvement Squad supporting one of our UK Government department client’s key modern platform services. You’ll work across complex operational and delivery landscapes, helping ensure service stability, continual improvement, and successful transition into long-term managed service operation. This is an opportunity to lead high-impact delivery, influence strategic outcomes, and work within a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and continuous growth.

CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.

Candidate profile

In this role, you will lead the mobilisation and ongoing delivery management of the Continual Improvement Squad, ensuring work is effectively planned, prioritised, governed, and delivered across operational support, transition, remediation, and continual improvement activities. You’ll collaborate closely with key client stakeholders, delivery teams, service management functions, and suppliers to ensure alignment across delivery and operational objectives while supporting the successful transition of the platform into managed service operation.

You’ll also play a key role in establishing squad ways of working, onboarding new team members, managing delivery governance, and supporting service readiness across both production and non-production environments. Working within an Agile and multidisciplinary environment, you’ll help drive operational excellence, improve delivery confidence, and identify opportunities to optimise processes through modern tooling and AI-enabled delivery practices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead & Mobilise the Continual Improvement Squad from onboarding through to live service operation

• Manage & Prioritise squad delivery across operational support, remediation, transition, and continual improvement activities

• Coordinate & Govern release readiness, service validation, deployment planning, and operational support processes

• Collaborate & Influence stakeholders across CGI, our client, suppliers, and delivery teams

• Track & Mitigate delivery risks, dependencies, escalations, and operational issues

• Support & Improve Agile delivery practices, service governance, and DevSecOps-aligned ways of working

• Oversee & Maintain backlog management, capacity planning, financial tracking, and reporting activities

• Enable & Champion AI-assisted delivery tooling to improve productivity and delivery outcomes

• Facilitate & Support knowledge transfer, sprint ceremonies, readiness reviews, and governance forums

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring strong experience managing complex delivery or managed service teams within large-scale technology environments. You should be confident operating across both delivery and operational service models, with strong stakeholder management, governance, and Agile delivery expertise. Experience supporting public sector transformation programmes, service transition activities, and multidisciplinary delivery teams will be highly beneficial.

Essential qualifications

• Proven experience leading delivery or managed service teams in complex environments

• Experience mobilising and onboarding new delivery or operational teams

• Strong understanding of Agile delivery, DevSecOps, and ITIL service management principles

• Experience managing transition from project delivery into live operational service

• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and ITSM tooling such as ServiceNow or Halo

• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and governance reporting skills

• Ability to manage risks, dependencies, escalations, and competing priorities effectively

• Experience managing T&M delivery models, forecasting, capacity planning, and governance

• Understanding of AI-enabled delivery tooling and operational improvement approaches

• Relevant certifications such as PSM, AgilePM, PRINCE2 Agile, ITIL, or equivalent
