Job Vacancy Proposal Writer

In this role, you will be responsible for producing persuasive, high-quality proposal content that showcases CGI’s expertise and aligns with client requirements and evaluation criteria. Working collaboratively with bid teams, you’ll manage inputs, shape narratives, and ensure consistency and impact across all submissions. You will also mentor less experienced writers, contribute to process improvement, and champion best practice in proposal development.



You will take ownership of proposal sections, from storyboarding through to final submission, driving clarity, creativity, and precision. Supported by a collaborative team, you’ll help define the standard of excellence for CGI proposals and play a central role in winning strategic opportunities.



Key responsibilities:



Write & Refine: Produce engaging, persuasive proposal content tailored to client needs and evaluation criteria.



Manage & Coordinate: Track, manage, and align bid inputs across teams to meet milestones and quality standards.



Coach & Mentor: Support less experienced writers in developing compelling proposal content and applying best practices.



Collaborate & Innovate: Work with bid teams to apply Shipley principles and develop strong proposal strategies.



Optimise & Enhance: Refine responses to meet word count, tone, and formatting guidelines while retaining impact.



Maintain & Curate: Source and adapt materials from CGI’s Content Library and case studies to strengthen responses.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

You should be an experienced proposal writer with a strong understanding of the bid lifecycle and a proven ability to create compelling, client-focused content. You’ll have the confidence to work independently and collaboratively, translating technical input into persuasive narratives that drive results.



Essential qualifications and skills:



Extensive experience in proposal or bid writing within a complex, client-facing environment.



Strong knowledge of public-sector procurement processes and evaluation frameworks.



Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with high attention to detail.



Good working knowledge of Shipley methodology and proposal best practices.



Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.



Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.



Collaborative approach with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
