Job Vacancy Senior Azure Platform Engineer – Azure Trusted Research Environment (TRE)

You'll provide technical leadership for the Azure Trusted Research Environment (TRE), working closely with Microsoft, clients and the open-source community to evolve a secure cloud platform used across healthcare and research.



Alongside leading platform engineering activities, you'll help shape technical strategy, support client engagements and contribute to the continued growth of CGI's secure cloud services.



• Lead the development and technical direction of the Azure TRE platform.

• Design and deliver secure Azure infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.

• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and automated testing.

• Implement secure Azure networking, identity and Zero Trust principles.

• Develop integrations and platform capabilities using modern cloud technologies.

• Collaborate with Microsoft and the open-source community to enhance the platform.

• Support client workshops, demonstrations and technical discussions.

• Contribute to business growth through technical innovation and solution development.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

You'll bring strong Azure platform engineering experience together with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach. You'll enjoy solving complex problems, sharing knowledge and helping clients deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions.



• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure platform services.

• Expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.

• Experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines.

• Good knowledge of Python and Bash scripting.

• Experience with Docker and container technologies.

• Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC and cloud security.

• Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and technical teams.

• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and innovation.



Desirable:

• Azure Landing Zones or Cloud Adoption Framework.

• Healthcare, NHS or other regulated environments.

• Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric or Purview.

• Open-source technologies and community engagement.

• Azure certifications such as AZ-305, AZ-400 or AZ-500.
