Hybrid/Remote, the role will require travel for key business meetings on a monthly basis. The location of the meetings can vary.
The Role Mission & Responsibilities:
The Local Data Engineer designs, builds, and maintains the country’s data pipelines (ingestion → transformation → exposure). The role works closely with Data Analysts to frame requirements and deliver reliable, well-documented, and maintainable datasets, with a progressive transfer of ownership to analytics teams.
Build end-to-end data pipelines: ingestion, cleansing, transformation, modeling, and exposure (datasets / tables / views).
Industrialize data flows: error handling, retries, performance, scalability, and cost optimization.
Deploy and operate pipelines in production (run, monitoring, fixes).
Design “analytics-ready” datasets (stable, understandable, documented).
Organize the handover through documentation, conventions, short training sessions, and progressive transfer of ownership on data usage and “light” functional evolutions (new fields, simple rules), within the agreed framework.
Apply defined patterns and standards (naming, modeling, testing, security, documentation).
Contribute to the “build once, reuse across countries” approach by sharing needs, patterns, and reusable improvements.
Implement shared group data models and manage well-framed local extensions.
Implement data quality controls (tests, validations, alerts) and ensure expected traceability
Candidate profile
The Successful Candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Strong SQL skills, data modeling, pipeline development, and industrial best practices.
Cloud experience appreciated (Azure preferred).
Ability to work in a federated environment: local autonomy with strong group alignment.
Strong collaboration skills with Data Analysts (framing, delivery, handover, pedagogy).
Ability to translate technical process to non technical stakeholders
Success in this role will look like:
Key pipelines built and running in production with reliability and observability aligned with standards.
“Analytics-ready” datasets delivered with clear documentation and business rules.
Effective handover to Data Analysts for usage and simple functional evolutions.
Group consistency respected: reuse of shared models and patterns, controlled local extensions.
Data quality under control and incidents managed efficiently.
Working environment
Long mission, based in London, English fluent is mandatory.
Cloud, Data Factory, Scrum, agility and usefull to travel across Europe is mandatory.
Possibility to be Internalised by the final customer at the end of the mission.
