At CGI, we empower the next generation of innovators to shape the future of technology and security. As part of #GenerationCGI, you’ll join a community of graduates who are turning ambition into action and possibility into progress.

As a Technical Graduate specialising in Data Analytics and Data Science, you’ll use data to uncover insights, solve complex problems and support better decisions. You could be analysing large datasets, developing data models, building data pipelines or exploring how artificial intelligence and machine learning can create meaningful outcomes.

You’ll be trusted with responsibility from the start, working alongside experienced colleagues on live projects across a range of industries. You’ll develop your technical expertise while helping clients transform data into practical solutions that make a real difference.

Candidate profile

In this role, you’ll apply your analytical and technical skills to help organisations understand their data, improve services and solve real-world challenges. The work will vary by project, giving you opportunities to develop experience across data analytics, data science and data engineering.

You may:

  • Analyse and interpret data: Explore complex datasets, identify patterns and communicate insights that support informed decisions.

  • Develop data models: Structure and model data so that it can be used effectively for analysis, reporting and operational services.

  • Build data solutions: Support the development of reliable data pipelines, analytical tools and software solutions.

  • Apply AI and machine learning: Explore technologies including machine learning, artificial intelligence and generative AI to address client challenges.

  • Present meaningful insights: Create reports and data visualisations that make complex information clear and accessible.

  • Collaborate across disciplines: Work with data engineers, software developers, analysts and client teams to design and deliver practical solutions.

  • Innovate alongside other graduates: Take part in early careers initiatives that go beyond your day-to-day role.

Every contribution you make will help deliver outcomes with lasting impact.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

We’re seeking ambitious graduates who are curious about data and excited by its potential to solve complex problems. You’ll bring an analytical mindset, an interest in technology and the willingness to keep learning as data, AI and cloud technologies continue to develop.

You should have:

  • A minimum 2:2 degree in data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering or a related STEM subject (some roles may require a 2:1).

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to communicate technical information clearly, both verbally and in writing.

  • Curiosity and a willingness to research new technologies and approaches.

  • Flexibility to travel and work on projects across the UK.

  • Eligibility for Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, with many roles requiring higher National Security Vetting. This typically requires 5–10 years of continuous UK residency.

Technical skills we value include:

  • Data analytics and modelling: Experience exploring, analysing and structuring data to identify trends and generate insights.

  • Programming: Experience with Python or another language used for data analysis, software development or automation.

  • Data engineering: An understanding of data pipelines, data transformation, storage and data quality.

  • Data visualisation: The ability to present data clearly through reports, dashboards or visualisation tools.

  • Artificial intelligence: An interest in machine learning, artificial intelligence and generative AI.

  • Cloud technologies: Exposure to cloud computing platforms and cloud-based data services.

  • Software and operational practices: Familiarity with software development, version control or site reliability engineering would be beneficial.

  • Emerging technology: An interest in technology research, connected systems or the Internet of Things would be an advantage.
