Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.

Candidate profile

In this role, you will lead the architecture, design, and governance of enterprise-scale data solutions that support business transformation, analytics, AI adoption, and digital innovation. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, you will define target-state architectures, shape strategic roadmaps, and ensure data platforms are scalable, secure, and aligned to business objectives. You will work across complex transformation programmes, providing technical leadership while balancing architectural governance with practical delivery outcomes.



You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, delivery teams, and client stakeholders to design modern cloud data platforms across Azure and AWS environments. Leveraging your expertise in Databricks, Lakehouse architectures, and enterprise data management, you will help organisations unlock greater value from their data while mentoring colleagues, driving innovation, and contributing to CGI's growing data and AI capabilities.



Key responsibilities:

Lead & Shape enterprise data architecture strategies, roadmaps, and target-state designs

Design & Govern scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native data platforms across Azure and AWS

Architect & Deliver modern Lakehouse, Data Mesh, data warehousing, and AI-enabled data solutions

Translate & Align business requirements into end-to-end technical architectures

Guide & Influence architectural decisions across large-scale transformation programmes

Champion & Establish architecture standards, governance frameworks, and best practices

Advise & Partner with executives, business leaders, and programme stakeholders on data strategy and modernisation

Drive & Support cloud migrations, data platform modernisation, governance initiatives, and analytics transformations

Mentor & Develop architects, engineers, and technical delivery teams

Contribute & Innovate through thought leadership, capability development, bids, proposals, and solution shaping

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

To succeed in this role, you will bring significant experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data platforms within complex business environments. You will possess strong architecture leadership skills, deep expertise in modern cloud data ecosystems, and the ability to engage confidently with both executive stakeholders and technical delivery teams. A strong background in Databricks, modern Lakehouse architectures, and cloud-native data solutions will be essential, alongside a passion for helping organisations realise the full value of their data.



Essential qualifications and experience:

Proven experience in Data Architecture, Solution Architecture, or Enterprise Data Architecture roles

Extensive experience delivering large-scale enterprise data and analytics solutions

Strong track record leading architecture across complex transformation programmes

Expert knowledge of Databricks and Apache Spark ecosystems

Deep expertise in either Microsoft Azure Data Platform Services or AWS Data Platform Services

Working knowledge of the alternative cloud platform

Experience designing modern Lakehouse architectures and enterprise data platforms

Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, lineage, security, privacy, and compliance frameworks

Experience developing enterprise data strategies, architecture roadmaps, and governance standards

Strong stakeholder engagement, consulting, and communication skills

Experience operating within large-scale enterprise or regulated environments

Ability to influence senior business and technology leaders while guiding technical delivery teams
