About the role
You’ll join Unity Business Services, working at the heart of a major transformation programme delivering new shared services across multiple government departments.
Leading on user research, you’ll ensure services and guidance are shaped by real user needs, improving experiences for both colleagues and the public.
What you’ll be doing
Leading and delivering user research across complex digital services
Shaping research strategies that inform decisions and improve services
Using a range of methods to gather and analyse actionable user insights
Influencing teams and stakeholders to embed user-centred design
Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across services
Mentoring and supporting other user researchers
Contributing to the wider user research community across government
Candidate profile
What we’re looking for
Strong experience in user research for digital services
Expertise in a range of research methods (e.g. usability testing, surveys, ethnographic research)
Ability to turn complex insights into clear, actionable outcomes
Confidence influencing stakeholders and embedding user-centred approaches
Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
Experience mentoring or supporting others in research practices
Working environment
Location: Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Worthing, Nottingham
