Paypal receipts

I have recently purchased tools from ebay and have had problems getting invioces..Does anyone know if using Paypal receipts will satisfy HMRC as proof of purchase ?

Are you VAT registered? If you are are this may give you difficulties as Paypal receipts aren't usually VAT receipts.

Hi, and thank you for the reply. No Im not VAT registered so maybe this gives me a chance ?

As you don't need a VAT invoice then a Paypal receipt should be fine. Considering it shows a description of the purchase and the seller's details then it will meet HMRCs requirements.
