New month, New Wave of BTCFi Projects

I’ve been following the BitcoinFi trend pretty closely this year. A lot of talk about making BTC more useful beyond just holding it. When I first heard of Portal To Bitcoin (PTB), I was curious because it lets people swap native BTC across chains without wrapped tokens or bridges. Feels like a big step toward real BTC DeFi.

Bitget just listed PTB, and it lines up with what they’ve been doing recently. Only last week, they added Bitlayer (BTR), another protocol aimed at scaling Bitcoin. Now they’re backing PTB through multiple events Launchpool, PoolX, and even a Candybomb event which gives both early holders and casual users different ways to jump in.

Looking back at August, 15 of their listings performed well post-listing, which is rare to see in this space. If PTB follows the same path, early participants in these events could have a decent edge. Personally, I’ll be watching how it trades after the initial hype settles.
