I agree that clients would be put off if you're not a native English speaker.

From your post I can see that you English is very 'text book'.
That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it will vary depending on what you are proof reading.

If you stick to proof reading text books, newspaper articles and other publications that use 'text book English' you should do very well.

I hope that helps.

I've been asked to knock up a contractor calculator tool for a client.
Contractor Calculator - Take Home Pay - Limited Company Calculators - Business Calculators

Problem is I can't get the cursor to change whenever you hover over the Calculate button. So it looks like it doesn't work til you click it with the arrow cursor.

Not sure where I'm going wrong. Site seems to keep rejecting the code.

Help!

Search engines only generate roughly 35% of traffic for most of my clients' sites.

So it might be worth focussing on the other 65% when it comes to ROI for your time and money.

Web Designer, post: 20727 a écrit : Have you ever hired SEO services? How do you determine the cost of SEO solutions for your website? Further, how do you track hired company SEO performance?
Generally SEO services are charged based on time.
So the longer something takes, the more they'll charge.

You can choose a range of KPIs to measure the success of SEO.
One is traffic, another is rankings.
Personally I prefer rankings, because traffic can fluctuate massively depending on season, promotions and many other factors.

Rankings on the other hand are clear as day.
Just be sure to get an estimation on the amount of traffic each ranking will get you for your target keywords.

SEO is really involved stuff, but it can make a massive difference if it's integrate properly into everything you do online with your website.

The biggest problem I have is that I seem to connect well with the Workers who actually get the jobs done, but can never make contact with the Managers, which are the ones who make the hiring decisions, but don't do any of the work.

Managed to get some sweet jobs through Workers who are respected by their Managers. But most of the time Workers and Managers are totally different entities, so I don't get as much work as I could.

Just wondering how to better get in front of the Managers? :indifferent

Google seems to favour content more than ever.
All of my clients have seen a big jump up the rankings and traffic this month because most of their links come from good quality content.
Of course, it makes me look great when most of that content was written by me! :laugh2

You get to access someone else's audience and drive them to your website/service and retain them if what you have to offer is any good.

If you're in the position to produce a blog with some great quality content, that also helps. Even if it's just one blog post a week...

All this social media stuff can feel like a real waste of time. But if you manage the time dedicated to it effectively, then it's not so bad.

Crunch looks very pretty, although I heard they were having financial difficulties, which is kind of ironic.

I'm still a sole trader right now, doing a little freelance work on the side, but if I ever form my own limited company, I'll probably go with SJD contractor accountants because they specialise in small businesses.

Hi Sam, I get SJD accountants to sort it out for me. They've saved me so much over the past year it's quite staggering, especially when it comes to tax deductions.
