I think this is a great idea, in fact I've done it myself. My question to you is, why do you have to invoice under a common name? Why not have the person who sourced or took the lead in the project do the billing and then outsource parts of the work to the rest of the group? That way you are still individuals from a business standpoint, but enjoying the benefits of working together.
