yeh from what ive heard there is no full way to copywright your work
if you're putting them on your own website then watermark them using photoshop
also if there is a dispute with someone else using your photos its never worth trying to get anything out of it because its a waste of time & money to get to the bottom of it
but if there is a dispute you want to follow through with then keep the original files you have uploaded to your computer & it will have under the info the date you uploaded it to your computer as proof of who had the picture first basically

6MP is a high resolution
you can print a decent size & its more than a good resolution for the web
also all you can get for non DSLR's is add on lenses & alot of compact digi cameras don't even come with hot shoes these days which then limits your flash options
DSLR's just open up so many options
but yes you are right D80 is a good choice if you've got a little extra cash
yeah im no pro Photographer but from what ive learnt try buy something that you can change the lenses on e.g a canon 350D or 400D or Nikon have the D40 or D40x would all be good cameras for you to start with because you will be able to customize your lens for what you shoot
also megapixels aren't everything, 6MP+ is a good start
fuji lenses are fixed & very slow
