Great question, Daniele. In most cases, since you’re a UK tax resident and working/living in London, you’ll usually pay tax only in the UK (HMRC) on your worldwide income, including payments from the US. The UK and US also have a double taxation treaty to prevent being taxed twice, so you normally won’t have to declare anything directly to the IRS for freelance income if you’re not a US resident.

To keep things simple, many freelancers use online tools to track earnings and estimate their tax liability before filing.

If your income stays below the UK personal allowance (£12,570 for current years), you likely won’t owe income tax, but still file your self-assessment to stay compliant.
