The Deputy Director for Digital Programmes will lead the programme to transform CPS's core business system, a critical platform of national importance that underpins the entire criminal justice system. Leading a set of interdependent projects and the associated business change activities over a multi-year programme.

You will have primary responsibility for successful delivery of the programme and required outcomes, including the establishment of appropriate governance and assurance, monitoring progress, managing risks and issues and ensuring the business readiness for change.

You will be responsible for setting delivery objectives, conducting performance reviews along with the development, coaching and mentoring of internal teams.

Oversee internal Programme PMO and matrixed delivery structures supported through effective resource plans and workforce models, managing contractors and multiple 3rd party delivery partners as required, ensuring clarity of responsibilities, deliverables and performance expectations.

Candidate profile

  • You must be able to clearly demonstrate evidence of the following essential criteria that will be used to assess your application and at the interview stage: 

    Essential criteria:

    • Proven track-record of leading complex, multi-year, high value programmes through the full lifecycle, in environments with legacy technology and critical operational systems. 

    • Experience of driving digital and technology-enabled change in large organisations, including transitioning from legacy technology systems to modern, user-centred systems. 

    • Strong ability to influence and collaborate with complex and diverse stakeholder groups to build trust and confidence and deliver programme outcomes. 

    • Significant experience on managing major contracts and supplier relationships including system integrators and delivery partners ensuring value for money, strong governance and alignment with organisational and best practice technology standards. 

    • Demonstrable experience of leading and inspiring large, multi-disciplinary teams across DDaT, operational and supplier teams.

    • Expertise in managing programme risk, assurance reviews (e.g. IPA / GIAA) with clear experience at operating with executive teams, boards and committees.
