Candidate profile

In this role, you will implement network changes across CGI Data Centres and UK client sites, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity that meets client expectations. You’ll take ownership of installations, configurations, and troubleshooting, while applying industry best practice and strict change management methodologies. You will also act as a trusted technical point of contact, collaborating with project teams and clients to deliver seamless outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

Lead & Implement: Install, configure, and troubleshoot network and security devices.

Collaborate & Deliver: Liaise with project teams and clients to meet deadlines with high customer satisfaction.

Optimise & Secure: Apply ITIL-aligned change management and ensure robust documentation.

Troubleshoot & Resolve: Identify and resolve technical issues across diverse client environments.

Evolve & Progress: Develop skills for progression to Senior Network Engineer, supporting complex design and transition projects.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

To succeed in this role, you should bring strong technical expertise across networks, firewalls, and telecoms, with the ability to work under pressure while delivering excellent client outcomes. A proactive approach, advanced Cisco skills, and an understanding of ITIL will set you apart, along with eligibility for UK Security Clearance.

You should have:

Proven experience in switches, routers, firewalls, change control, and documentation.

Strong LAN/WAN knowledge and telecoms implementation experience.

Advanced Cisco IOS skills and a CCNA (or equivalent).

Experience with firewall vendors (Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Palo Alto, McAfee).

Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, and IP management.

Knowledge of ITIL and change management methodologies.

WAN installation/migration experience.
