Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.

Candidate profile

In this role, you will take ownership of major bids that define CGI’s role in critical national infrastructure and defence programmes. From capture through to final submission, you will lead cross-functional teams in crafting competitive, compliant, and compelling proposals that showcase CGI’s innovation, reliability, and strategic value. You’ll collaborate closely with the Opportunity Pursuit Leader (OPL), technical experts, and senior stakeholders to shape winning strategies that meet client objectives and strengthen CGI’s position in the market.



You will drive every aspect of the bid process—from governance and financial oversight to solution development and stakeholder engagement—ensuring our proposals deliver measurable value and excellence. Supported by a collaborative culture, you’ll be empowered to lead with creativity, accountability, and purpose as part of a team that drives real-world impact.



Key responsibilities include:



Lead & Deliver: Oversee the full bid lifecycle from opportunity identification to submission, ensuring quality and alignment with client needs.



Strategise & Influence: Define winning strategies and themes that underpin each bid, translating them into compelling deliverables.



Coordinate & Govern: Manage resources, timelines, and governance in line with CGI’s Business Engineering Management Framework (BEMF).



Engage & Collaborate: Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, partners, and clients to align solutions with strategic goals.



Drive & Inspire: Lead multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and focus throughout the bid process.



Analyse & Adapt: Maintain awareness of market trends, competitor positioning, and emerging technologies to enhance bid success.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

To succeed, you’ll be an accomplished bid professional with a proven track record leading complex, high-value opportunities. You’ll combine strategic thinking with strong organisational and communication skills, bringing together diverse teams to deliver innovative and compliant proposals that win.



You should have:



Demonstrable experience in bid or proposal management within IT, systems integration, or defence sectors.



Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across technical, commercial, and delivery disciplines.



Strong strategic, commercial, and financial acumen with the ability to balance innovation and compliance.



Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.



A collaborative, proactive mindset with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.



(Desirable) Familiarity with Shipley, Miller-Heiman, or similar bid/sales methodologies.



(Desirable) Technical understanding of complex systems and solutions.
