At CGI, we empower organisations to deliver secure, scalable digital platforms that drive real business impact. As a DevOps Engineer (Consultant), you will play a pivotal role in enabling high-performing development teams to build, test and release with confidence in complex, high-scale environments. We combine deep technical expertise with a culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement, giving you the space to innovate while shaping modern DevSecOps and cloud-native solutions for our clients. Here, your ideas are valued, your growth is supported, and your work directly contributes to resilient platforms that underpin critical services and future-focused transformation.

CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position based out of our Glasgow office.

Candidate profile

In this role, you will work closely with development teams to design, implement and continuously improve secure, cloud-native CI/CD pipelines in high-scale environments. You will take ownership of DevSecOps tooling and platform engineering practices, enabling teams to deliver reliable, observable and compliant applications on OpenShift and Kubernetes. By driving GitOps approaches and embedding security and quality controls into every stage of delivery, you will help accelerate releases while maintaining robust governance.

You will act as a trusted consultant to stakeholders, championing best practice, encouraging innovation and fostering a collaborative culture where teams are empowered to experiment, learn and improve.

• Lead and evolve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, reusable workflows and composite actions

• Design and embed DevSecOps controls integrating tools such as Snyk, Trivy and SonarQube

• Engineer container platforms using Docker, OpenShift and Kubernetes

• Implement GitOps practices with ArgoCD, Helm or Kustomize

• Support JVM-based applications (Java/Maven) running in containers

• Improve observability using DynaTrace, DataDog or AWS CloudWatch

• Collaborate with development teams to drive platform reliability and performance

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

To succeed in this position, you will bring strong hands-on experience in DevOps and platform engineering within complex, high-scale environments. You will be confident working across CI/CD, container orchestration and GitOps tooling, with a solid understanding of secure software delivery and observability. A collaborative mindset, proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to guide and support development teams are essential.

• You should have proven experience as a DevOps or Platform Engineer in enterprise environments

• Strong proficiency in GitHub Actions and modern CI/CD patterns

• Hands-on expertise with DevSecOps tooling such as Snyk, Trivy and SonarQube

• Extensive experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes and Docker containerisation

• Practical knowledge of GitOps tools such as ArgoCD, Helm or Kustomize
