Head of Software Engineering

Cardiff | 2 days onsite | £80,000 - £90,000

We're looking for a Head of Software Engineering to play a key role in a large-scale digital transformation programme. This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who can bring both technical credibility and strong people management skills, while guiding a team through significant change.

The Role

Lead and develop a team of around 12 engineers (mix of permanent and contract staff).

Provide direction across modern technologies including Power Platform, .NET, and Dataverse, while helping upskill developers from legacy backgrounds.

Drive adoption of best practices, agile delivery, and a "one team" culture.

Work closely with data architects and oversee delivery across multiple projects.

Act as a mentor and change leader, helping the team embrace a modern tech stack and new ways of working.

About You

Experienced leader of software engineering or development teams.

Proven track record managing teams working with Power Platform solutions (Dataverse, .NET, integrations).

Strong technical background (not necessarily hands-on now, but able to guide and challenge).

Skilled at leading teams through digital transformation and cultural change.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
