Job Description

Purpose of the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Network Tooling Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing and enhancing network monitoring and automation tools such as Cisco Thousand Eyes, Cisco Catalyst Center, NetBrain, and DX NetOps. You will play a critical role in maintaining the health, performance, and reliability of our network infrastructure by leveraging automation tools and scripting with technologies such as Python, Ansible and other frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, deploy, and manage network monitoring tools, including Cisco ThousandEyes, NetBrain, and DX NetOps.
  • Develop and implement automation solutions for network monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting using tools such as Python and Ansible.
  • Design and maintain workflows to streamline network operations and improve efficiency.
  • Analyze network data and provide actionable insights to enhance network performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve network-related issues quickly and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards and security protocols.
    Document processes, configurations, and workflows for operational transparency and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

   •   Proficiency in network monitoring tools such as Cisco ThousandEyes, NetBrain, and DX NetOps.
   •   Full understanding of config templates (Jinja)
   •   Experience in running and optimizing automation tools to reduce manual workloads.
   •   Familiarity with network infrastructure components such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
   •   Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
   •   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other network automation tools or programming languages (e.g., Python, Ansible, etc.).
  • Experience of Jinja
  • Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus.
