Senior Designer- Mechanical
Job title: Senior Designer - Mechanical Location: Barrow-in-Furness - This is an on site position Salary: £36,000+ Depending on skills and experience What you will be doing: You will be directly supporting our World Class Submarines by producing 3D models of either Pipe routes, HVAC systems or mechanical compartment arrangements using the CAD toolset Your responsibilities will also include producing 2D drawings and electronic data and BoM item development to a fast - paced schedule to support manufacturing, installation, and testing of our products Develop and maintain close working relationships with other Design team members and Stakeholders who are working towards the same common goal Working as a team to produce an Integrated Design that meets our client’s expectations and agreed set of requirements Your skills and experiences: Understanding of CAD toolsets and techniques e.g. AUTOCAD, Foran, Solidworks and Siemens NX etc. in both 2D (Diagrams) and 3D outputs (drawings and models) HNC / ONC level or degree qualification in relevant STEM subject or equivalent work experience Understanding of mechanical routed systems at both 2D and 3D level in either piping or HVAC design Experience in Mechanical Compartment Integration / Room Integration and or Engineering Standards at Component / Equipment level Benefits: You’ll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. The potential career path in this role could see you progressing to a Principal Designer or Assistant Project Leader or other roles within our Business.
