Senior Data Quality Assurance Engineer

The opportunity As a Senior Data Quality Assurance Engineer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of data within our organisation. You'll be responsible for developing and implementing data quality standards, processes, and best practices to maintain high data quality throughout the data lifecycle. Your expertise in data validation, testing methodologies, and quality assurance techniques will contribute to the successful delivery of data-driven initiatives and enable us to make informed decisions across the organisation, as well as keeping us compliant with regulatory requirements and industry standards. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and wider business stakeholders, to establish data quality criteria and provide guidance and training on data quality best practices, tools and technologies. What you'll get up to In this role, you will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive data validation strategies, including data profiling, cleansing, and transformation, to identify and rectify data quality issues. You'll conduct data quality assessments and audits to ensure adherence to standards and identify areas for improvement. Your work will involve creating and maintaining dashboards and reports that provide visibility into data quality metrics and trends. Collaborating closely with data engineering teams, you will design and implement automated data quality checks and monitoring processes. Additionally, you will perform root cause analysis for data quality issues, identifying underlying causes and proposing effective solutions. You will also assist product teams in developing and executing test plans, cases, and scripts to validate data transformation and integration processes. Staying updated on emerging trends and technologies in data quality management, you will recommend innovative solutions to enhance data quality practices within the organisation. What we need from you Proven experience as a Senior Data Quality Assurance Engineer or similar role. A strong understanding of data quality concepts, methodologies, and best practices. Proficiency in SQL and data querying for data validation and testing purposes. Hands on experience with Snowflake, Airflow or Matillion would be ideal Familiarity with data integration, ETL processes, and data governance frameworks. Solid understanding of data structures, relational databases, and data modelling concepts. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify data quality issues and propose effectivesolutions. Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross functional teams and convey complex data qualityconcepts to non technical stakeholders. Familiarity with data privacy and regulatory compliance requirements is a plus. Professional certifications in data quality or related areas (e.g. Certified Data Management Professional) would definitely be a bonus The role has a blended base, between our Central London office and home. We trust you to make the right decision about the type of work that is best done in each location. We expect you'll achieve a 50/50 split between the two and there may be times where you'll want to visit our other locations to tell their stories, too (fully reimbursed).
