Our client are looking for Principal Software & Controls Engineer to work on cutting edge motor control technology and be the lead technical authority on motor control systems across the business. As a Principal Software & Controls Engineer, you will be a key contributor to all aspects of the project life cycle including requirement specification, software design, implementation, test and integration. Our client is looking for someone to question and challenge the norm and really push the limits of quality and advancement across their suite of products. Desired experience / skills Minimum of 5 years experience in relevant field (automotive, aerospace) Track record of developing and implementing model based control strategies Strong experience working with complex electro-mechanical systems Experience working on passenger car and motorsport inverter system applications Exposure to all aspects of V-cycle system design and development Experience of motor control algorithms, Field Oriented Control, Space Vector Modulation and inverter sensorless algorithms (other areas of powertrain and vehicle control unit software development will considered) Developing control algorithms for real-time embedded systems; preferably in automotive applications MATLAB & Simulink experience Software unit and integration testing Knowledge of automotive HV systems AUTOSAR standard & AUTOSAR compliant SW development Experience of real time OS and knowledge of protocols such as J1587, J1939, ISO14229, i.e. serial communication, diagnosis and software download.
