Your future duties and responsibilities Supporting the Lead Technical Consultant on requirements analysis and solution design, including estimating. • Communicating test results to technical and business stakeholders and working collaboratively to resolve issues raised. • Supporting the team to implement solutions, getting hands-on with test preparation and execution. • Reviewing test baseline documentation, e.g. functional or non-functional specifications; High Level Designs (HLD); Hosting Design Document. • Engaging with users, architects, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and agree test coverage. • Providing specialist advice to support others, including coaching and mentoring. Required qualifications to be successful in this role • You will have strong core testing skills that encompass testing of infrastructure and/or the ability to adapt testing skills to infrastructure verification. • You will need to be able to create test cases using your in-depth technical analysis of both functional and non-functional specifications (such as reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability and portability). • You will be able to design automated test scripts in a modular fashion to facilitate reuse and maintenance. Your future duties and responsibilities As a Automation Tester you'll get to work in teams working on cutting edge projects within our Defence/Space business, on work that has a real impact. Your work will involve some or all of the below: • Contribute to the test design and execution of various test phases. • Be part of the overall contribution of the test team; reporting and attending defect triage meetings, quality gate reviews and producing Test Completion Reports. • Provide support to junior members of the team offering guidance where required. • System Testing. • Test Automation both at SME and Script Developer level. Required qualifications to be successful in this role We are interested in considering candidates from different technical backgrounds. For example, for this Test Automation role we can consider people from both Testing and Software Development backgrounds, who are comfortable with scripting. You will be able to demonstrate the below competencies: • Knowledge of test automation skills and open source (e.g. Robot Frameworks, Selenium & Python), testing tools. • Proven and relevant testing and quality assurance expertise in either manual or automated testing. • Delivery of test automation projects (beneficial). • Ability to identify, analyse, and devise solutions to business and technical information technology problems. • Ability to interact with customers regarding business and technical information technology needs. • Expertise of working in agile teams delivering projects and solutions (beneficial). • AGILE and SAFe. • Software development skills. E.g Java, C#, and an understanding of software development best practices. • Good communication skills, including excellent written and verbal presentation skills. • Able to analyse problems, detect root causes and resolve issues effectively using latest quality improvement tools and techniques. • Excellent time management, planning, organisation, and prioritisation skills. These environments will enable our customers to validate their applications and services, linking into and providing ongoing support from our infrastructure project. Key Responsibilities and Duties: - Design, develop & maintain the frameworks and automation environments. - Work with testers to ensure their scripts run and that results integrate with dashboards. - Participate in agile ceremonies, including team meetings, stand-ups, and retrospectives. - Participate in knowledge sharing sessions involving the team, our partners and our clients. Required qualifications to be successful in this role - Hands on experience at deploying virtualised workloads with L3/L4 networking. - Skilled in configuration and automation tools such as Robot Framework, Go, vCentre Networks. - Experience of RedHat or CentOS Linux (System Admin and Bash) and or Windows (System Admin and PowerShell). - Use of tooling such as Jenkins, InfluxDB and Grafana. - Experience of containerisation and orchestration technologies e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift. Desired competencies: - Experience of infrastructure engineering on Cloud platforms and technologies e.g. such as AWS Cloud Practitioner. - Understanding of software and infrastructure testing. - Understanding of test management tools, e.g. TestRail and or X-Ray. - Creation and configuration of reporting dashboards with Splunk and or ELK stack.
