Position: Java Developer

Location: London

Rate: £850 - £900 per day (Outside IR35)

Duration: 12 months (strong potential for extension)

Role Overview:

Our client, a major investment bank, is looking for a Java Developer to enhance and rebuild their FX trading platforms. This 12-month contract offers a competitive rate and the chance to work on a key project with high extension potential.



Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize FX platforms for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with teams to design and implement new features.
• Write and maintain Java code, following best practices.
• Ensure regulatory and internal standards compliance.
• Work with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.


Essential Skills:

• Strong Java 8+ and multithreading experience.
• Experience with FX platforms or financial systems.
• Microservices architecture and cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• SQL/NoSQL databases and RESTful APIs.


Desirable Skills:

• FX workflows, market data, and liquidity management knowledge.
• Front-office trading experience and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and TDD/BDD.
