It's better if you talk to friends in the same profession or other people in the same profession (such as us!). My partner is forever researching even when they're not in front of the computer. So my best bet is to lower the h/r when you are researching...or you could set a fixed time for coming up with conceptual ideas, if that makes sense. Of course you cannot always keep to such schedules but at least it gives your clients an idea on how much you worked. Unless your contracted, I wouldn't bother giving them a time sheet unless they really wanted it. In the end it's always good to note down how many hours you work just in case they ask.
Hello all,
I just moved to Manchester from Perth in Australia, just for a change in scene. I've been doing a bit of 'freelance' work during my studies but it was nothing serious. Both my partner and I are thinking about freelancing while we're here(design and promotion)...or till we find ourselves a proper job. Will probably need some advice especially in the tax depo, so you may find me on there. Cheers!
