Web Designer, post: 19331 a écrit : I suggest you people per hour, mostly UK entrepreneurs post their jobs there for hiring freelancer withing the budget. So register their, find your skills category and start bidding on jobs. You may get your work.

Good Luck!
Yes working on hourly projects is the dream of every freelancer. But in order to build a profile one has to work on fixed rate.

maisonyeah, post: 19168 a écrit : Hello all,
I just moved to Manchester from Perth in Australia, just for a change in scene. I've been doing a bit of 'freelance' work during my studies but it was nothing serious. Both my partner and I are thinking about freelancing while we're here(design and promotion)...or till we find ourselves a proper job. Will probably need some advice especially in the tax depo, so you may find me on there. Cheers!
Well if guys are wondering how to find freelancing work, than shifting or moving over to networks of ODesk.com or Freelancing.com will provide some great platforms to shift your attention.

Dcmtr, post: 18906 a écrit : I've previously posted asking for advice in dealing with a regular client that I invoice monthly and always pays late. In the end I gave up trying to get them to pay on time as they always paid eventually, after some hassling and a week or two overdue.

This time they are a bit later than they usually are, and after some hassling and ignored emails, they have admitted to me that they simply don't have any money at the moment, saying they will pay as soon as possible, hopefully in another week. They told me they aren't in danger of going under but are merely waiting on a few big payments themselves.

I want to ensure I get paid ASAP, because (a) I need the money now, and (b) in the event they do go out of business, I want to have been paid. With this in mind, it seems like a good idea to start threatening late payment fees and/or debt collectors.

On the other hand, I don't want to sour the relationship, as I want their continued business, and am therefore minded to meekly put up with the delay. But if I don't give them much grief about it, they may put me to the back of the queue.

How best to deal with them?

And is it a very bad sign that they have cash flow problems (does it frequently presage bankruptcy) or is it not such a big deal? They are big enough that they must have a turnover of several million so I am surprised they can't pay me the few hundred pounds they owe.
Just stop there work, they will start to pay you automatically whenever they find that they aren't getting desired profits.

tkenny, post: 18974 a écrit : Hi!

Currently I work a 9-5 job but want to do freelance in my own time which I shall be starting next month but I'm confused as to what I need to do to in order to comply with all the tax and income rules and regulations.

What do I need to do in order to register and make sure all is above board for a second income? I can only imagine it to be an admin nightmare and I hate admin!

I will be receiving all secondary income as an automatic payment every month which should make it easier to track for tax and everything. I will certainly be making my way into the higher rate tax band at least for a short time (6-12 months potentially) while I have a full time job and freelance income but at some point I hope to make the transition to freelancing full-time. Is there anything I need to consider for that situation?

Finally, what can I do to make the whole process as easy as possible? Obviously getting an accountant will help me with that but that almost certainly won't be feasible, at least initially.

Thanks for any help!
One can go for and work as a freelancer when ever he feels like. Working as a freelancer doesn't at require one to remain restricted and work in the office timings of 9-5.....

FreshConcept, post: 17664 a écrit : Hi guys. I am new to this website.

I have been made redundant more times than the tooth fairy visits Audley Harrison.
I have been selling training courses for the different companies I have worked for, and thought I should start my own freelance sales and marketing business selling training on behalf of all the trainers I have been working with in the past that have also been made redundant.

I will be selling health & safety, Driver CPC, Construction Skills, FLT, Logistics and anything else I manage to take on board, as these are the areas in which I have been selling B2B.

My query is this: If I am to set this up, do I set myself up as a training provider, or as a consultant?
I also want to know how I can prevent the trainer from taking future business away from me once I have introduced the company to the trainer.

All help in setting up will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Dean
Well this is a free lancing forum, a forum through which you are able to go for gain work. Its not a place where you can go for and sell your products.

webguru11, post: 18806 a écrit : Hi!

Can someone tell me whether I should have links or link to sites with high PR only? Every day I see a lot of high traffic / quality sites without any PR. Does Google see PR as the only factor in determining quality?

Thanks in advance for your help guys.
What's recommended is to always go for and build backlinks based depending upon Quality and PR, as building backlinks in such a fashion helps a lot in raising the PR of your website with in the search engine. Remember one thing, getting huge amount of traffic doesn't means its targeted traffic. Only targeted traffic results in providing the best in terms of sales for your business website.

Can someone tell me if it’s ok to buy dropped domains? Are there any problems of which I should think beforehand?
Thanks in advance.
Some times it is preferred in order to buy dropped domain as you are able to avail them in cheap prices, but what you should be going for and ensuring is that the domain name shouldn't be penalized with in any search engine.

I'm a fulltime Software Developer and quite happy in my job - however, recently, I've done a bit of freelance work. It's only a couple of hundred pounds worth but there is a slight possibly of one more job to come out of it.

I have really no idea where I stand on the whole tax front and would appreciate if anyone could shed some light on my situation for me.

Many thanks in advance,
Darren

Well in simple wording the type of three way linking is the ones found in either link wheeling or link pyramids....
