No the recruitment agency haven't mentioned who the contract is with. I have discussed with both parties hourly rates. I've discussed in the last phone call with the recruiter the proposed day rate based on the fact that the design agency want me in permanently for a 2 month period...with a view to a permanent role. But my guess was the same as yours...but its a guess. And as it was never mentioned by the recruiter I began to think I should already know?! But don't. :confused2

This would be my first piece of work in conjunction with the recruitment agency. Therefore talk about contracts has never arisen. My hourly rate was discussed with both the design agency and the recruitment agency. The recruitment agency were told that the design agency wanted me in asap and on a 2 month basis.

My initial guesstimate to answer your question was that the recruiter would be paying me...but with all the discussion with the recruiter about what they would propose as my daily rate I never had that point confirmed and I began to assume i should automatically know. :indifferent

Hello all,

I've been freelancing as a sole trader for a few years now but worked in every case directly with the design agency.

I am now confused having got a few months potential work via a recruitment agency with a design agency how that will work in terms of my pay. I was advised by the recruitment agency to charge a daily rate - and the design agency in question want me to work indefinitely for them solidly for 2 months with a view to making it permanent thereafter.

My problem is I'm not aware how this will work with pay?! Didn't dare ask the recruitment agency for fear of looking stupid. So how is it likely to work?!
