Tricky one.,.

If you lower your price, you'll disappear amongst all the others trying to undercut you as previously mentioned.

If you're confident in your abilities, why not try standing out by being more expensive than the rest?

I haven't tried the theory as a freelancer yet, but I intend to. It always worked when I was agency based.

Hi.

I know this is probably a well worn topic, but I'm new here and I was hoping someone might me able to give me a few pointers.

I've recently become a freelance graphic designer after working in studios for ten years. I have the experience, the kit and the capability, but I'm finding it very difficult to know where to promote my services.

As well as offering graphic design services, I was hoping to specialise in photo manipulation / correction, as this is where my interest and talent lies. So I've emailed hundreds of photographers, design agencies, marketing companies etc, but with very few bites.

Is anyone who's cracked this problem prepared to spill the beans?

Cheers

Andy
